Rules

Problem A common working basis is essential for cooperation. Users, however, often participate in a VCL-project with different objective targets, expectations and experiences.
Framework Participants have heterogeneous experience in team learning projects.
Solution
Rules for participation and for dealing with each other will be set by the lecturer during the kick-off meeting in order to ensure that every VCL participant has the same basis for cooperation. These rules apply to all participants – regardless of any assignment to a specific team later on. In particular special rules regarding the activity and the behaviour towards other participants are content of the initial setup. Moreover, these rules should be documented and accessible to all members at any time.
Example:

Create a Profile with specific, curtural and personal content to let people know who you are and enable your teammates to really get acquainted.

The following rules, for example, can be formulated.
Active participation

-Log on daily to social network

-Performing one’s own role

-Completing assigned tasks

Openness

-to other cultures

-to different approaches

-to different understanding

Respect

-for group members

-for tutors

Fairness

-in the distribution of tasks

-in the evaluation
